Thailand’s reopening divided into 4 phases

Thaiger Published on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 11:37
By Jack Arthur (The Nation).

Thailand is looking toward the future as the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration announced yesterday its plan to gradually reopen the country. The CCSA’s plan consists of 4 phases that take into consideration tourism revenue, geography, and Covid preventive measures.

Pilot phase: October 1 to October 31. Phuket, Surat Thani, including Koh Samui, Koh Pha-ngan and Koh Tao islands. Phang Nga, including Khao Lak coastal area and Koh Yao island. Krabi, including Koh Phi Phi and Koh Ngai islands, Railay, Khlong Muang and Tub Kaak beaches. Also included in the Pilot Phase are the Phuket and Samui Sandbox programmes that were previously launched over the last couple of months.

Phase 1: November 1 to 30 Bangkok, Krabi, Phang Nga, Prachuap Khiri Khan, including Hua Hin and Nong Kae subdistricts. Phetchaburi, including the Cha-am district. Chonburi, including Pattaya City, Jomtien and Bang Saray subdistricts. Ranong, including Koh Phayam. Chiang Mai, including Muang, Mae Rim, Mae Taeng and Doi Tao districts. Loei, including the Chiang Khan district. Buriram, including the Muang district.

Phase 2: December 1 to 31. Chiang Rai, Mae Hong Son, Lamphun, Phrae, Nong Khai, Sukhothai, Phetchabun, Pathum Thani, Ayutthaya, Samut Prakan, Trat, Rayong, Khon Kaen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Trang, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Yala and Narathiwat.

Phase 3: January 2022-TBD. Surin, Sa Kaeo, Chanthaburi, Tak, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, Bueng Kan, Udon Thani, Ubon Ratchathani, Nan, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi and Satun.

Earlier today, the Thaiger wrote how the mayor of Pattaya City officially confirmed that the reopening of Pattaya was delayed until November.

If anyone have friends or family members that are above 40s living in Thailand not yet vaccinated, please do get vaccinated. Getting wuhan delta virus infection is no joke.

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said on Monday that he will push for the opening up of the country to fully vaccinated foreign tourists from at least 10 countries on Nov 1, as the government earlier planned.

Gen Prayut said in a nationally televised broadcast that fully vaccinated tourists from at least 10 low-risk countries would be allowed to enter Thailand by air with no quarantine requirements.

The prime minister named the United Kingdom, Singapore, Germany, China and the United States among the first group of countries to benefit from the move.

Monday's annoucement indicated that the reopening would cover all parts of the country.

Restrictions eased for alcohol sales

The prime minister said the government will allow restaurants and other places to sell alcohol by Dec 1 to promote tourism and the entertainment sector as people plan to celebrate the new year.

"By Dec 1, we will also consider allowing the consumption of alcoholic beverages in restaurants as well as the operation of entertainment venues under appropriate health precautions to support the revitalisation of the tourism and leisure sectors, especially the new year period," he said.

Thinking of going to Thailand if SG lowers them to SHN 7 days. Got quite a few days of leave so might just go in December regardless.
Any recommendation for a place where I can stay for a month with some house keeping but don't need daily cleaning? AirBnB?

AirBnB should be best pricing? safer side is rent more than 30 days. But now the vaccinated travel rules by Thailand still unclear. Don't know what later got any kind of pattern they will come up with like die die you must declare accommodation, book hotel for your trip. Hotel and service apartment plenty 555 Since you staying a month, its better you email ask for weekly or monthly quotation for best pricing.

if their reopening is simply boh chap like pre-covid time so long vaccinated then thats the best.

Surprisingly do Thai driving license quite fast.

I used international driving permit, walk-in 7am n sat at foreigner waiting area. Queue number given upon document checks starts 8.30am. Left with license at 11am ish.

40 queues a day at chatuchak DLT. (foreigners, Thai need to book queue online)

CCSA spokesman Taweesilp Visanuyothin said the 23 dark-red provinces will be Bangkok, Kanchanaburi, Chanthaburi, Chon Buri, Chachoengsao, Tak, Nakhon Pathom, Nakhon Nayok, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Narathiwat, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Prachin Buri, Pattani, Ayutthaya, Yala, Rayong, Ratchaburi, Songkhla, Samut Prakan, Samut Songkhram, Samut Sakhon and Saraburi.

The 30 red zones will be Kalasin, Khon Kaen, Chai Nat, Chaiyaphum, Chumphon, Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Trang, Trat, Nakhon Ratchasima, Nakhon Sawan, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Phatthalung, Phichit, Phitsanulok, Phetchaburi, Maha Sarakham, Ranong, Lop Buri, Si Sa Ket, Satun, Sa Kaeo, Sing Buri, Suphan Buri, Surat Thani, Surin, Ang Thong, Udon Thani, Ubon Ratchathani and Phetchabun.

The 24 orange provinces will be Krabi, Kamphaeng Phet, Nakhon Phanom, Nan, Bung Kan, Buri Ram, Phayao, Phangnga, Phrae, Phuket, Mukdahan, Mae Hong Son, Yasothon, Roi Et, Lampang, Lamphun, Loei, Sakon Nakhon, Sukhothai, Nong Khai, Nong Bua Lam Phu, Uttaradit, Uthai Thani and Amnat Charoen.

In dark-red zones, the curfew will be from 11pm to 3am for at least the next 15 days, instead of the present 10pm-4am.

Convenience stores and markets could open until 10pm and also reopen their amusement zones.

Cinemas, eateries, theatres, stadiums, public parks and shopping centres could stay open until 10pm.

Daycare centres for elderly people could reopen and all public transport vehicles could utilise all passenger seats.

Trade, convention and exhibition centres and the likes at hotels and department stores could organise meetings of up to 500 people, but food would have to be in individual servings, people must wear face masks and meetings be limitied to two hours duration and end by 10pm.

Shopping centres, except those in dark-red zones, will be able to reopen game arcades but not water parks or amusement parks.

Limits for participants in gatherings will be raised to 50 in dark-red zones, 100 in red zones and 200 in orange zones.

Entertainment places will remain closed, including pubs, bars and karaoke shops, because of the high risk of disease transmission, Dr Taweesilp said.

Re: Living in Bangkok!

Sure or not 555 many countries want to let their citizens visit thailand?

Quote:
https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand...s-being-opened

There will be no quarantine for fully vaccinated air travellers from five countries from Nov 1, and destinations in more provinces will also be opened to foreign tourists.

Taweesilp Visanuyothin, spokesman for the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration, said the CCSA resolved on Thursday to allow in fully vaccinated visitors from Britain, the United States, Germany, Singapore and China if they pass an RT-PCR test before arrival - for an initial period from Nov 1 to Dec 31.

Travellers from these five countries were considered as having low-risk of Covid-19 infection. They would not have to quarantine.

The number of destinations opened to tourists would also expand from four provinces - Phuket and parts of Surat Thani, Phangnga and Krabi provinces - to 17 provinces of economic significance. This would include all of Bangkok, Samut Prakan (only Suvarnabhumi airport), Prachuap Khiri Khan (Hua Hin district) and all of Krabi and Phangnga, Dr Taweesilp said.

From Dec 1, another 16 major provinces would reopen, including Chiang Rai, Mae Hong Son, Lamphun, Phrae and Sukhothai.

The operations committee of the CCSA had yet to finalise the entire list of the additional provinces, Dr Taweesilp said.

The CCSA's briefing on Thursday afternoon started with Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha confirming that Thailand was ready for reopening in two weeks.

"Many countries want to let their citizens visit Thailand... It will be a small start, for people to resume earning a living," the prime minister said.
